New Item Spec update with Shipping Restrictions is coming soon!

If you’re still using Item Spec 3.2, it’s time to upgrade! This means that, beginning October 1, 2022, our system will no longer support item maintenance via Item Spec 3.2. See below for new features you’re going to love with Item Spec 4X:

  • Item setup based on sub-category, including multi-category item setup and a new Excel design that has removed macros
  • Dedicated item maintenance specs, with reduced requirements for easier updates and support for partial updates
  • Attribution changes, including hundreds of new closed list attributes, thousands of attribute optimizations based on sub-categories, and hundreds of new attribute definitions
  • Backwards compatibility without impacting item setup on older Spec versions
  • Extra support for Walmart Fulfillment Services, with new item setup APIs for setting up a full WFS item or converting an existing MP item to WFS

Item Spec 4.5 is also coming soon with much-anticipated shipping restrictions! Keep an eye out for updated API documentation later this month.

Explore new columns in the On-Request Item Report for the new Repricer tool

You can now maintain competitive pricing more effectively with the Walmart Marketplace Repricer! By leveraging our automated technology, you can help set up successful pricing strategies and stay up to date on varying market conditions. And now, you can take advantage of four new columns in the On-Request Item Report (version 3). 

The new columns are: 

  • Repricer Strategy 
  • Minimum Seller Allowed Price 
  • Maximum Seller Allowed Price 
  • Repricer Status

Important updates to Order Cancellations

Earlier this month, we sent an email to let you know about the important updates regarding Order Cancellations. As reminder, in the coming weeks, all sellers integrated via API or through a Solutions Provider will be required to make the appropriate API call updates found here.

Here’s what’s changing: 

  • A new flag called intentToCancelOverride will be provided in the shipping API 
  • Sellers can use intentToCancelOverride to identify shipping orders marked as cancelled by the customer when the order status hasn’t been updated. 
  • The response body for getOrders and shipping API won’t change, as intentToCancel is available at the orderLine level. 
  • The Customer Changed Mind cancellation reason now only applies when the intentToCancel attribute is present on the GetOrders API.

Don’t forget: On-Request Reports are replacing Pre-Generated Reports!

As a reminder, beginning June 30, Pre-Generated Item Reports will no longer be available. And, beginning July 30, ALL Pre-Generated Reports will be decommissioned.  

Instead, access the following information through On-Request Reports:  

  • Item Performance  
  • Cancellations  
  • Delivery Defects 
  • Buy Box Status

An update to the DHL display name is coming soon!

When fulfilling domestic orders under the DHL carrier name, sellers will soon see an updated display name, DHL Ecomm – US‘. This update will allow tracking numbers and statuses for DHL shipments to populate for shipped orders. With this update, we aim to improve the customer experience and help reduce the number of tracking inquiries submitted by customers.
