Upgrade to On-Request Reports before June 30

As a reminder, we’re retiring Pre-Generated Reports on June 30. If you’re not already using On-Request Reports, now is the perfect time to get started! The On-Request Reports API enables you to request and download reports much faster and more frequently than Pre-Generated Reports. Many reports are already available via On-Request Reports including Shipping configuration, Shipping program, Item performance, Cancellations, Delivery defects, Buy Box status, and more.

Plus, when you subscribe to webhooks, you’ll even receive an automated push notification once your report has been generated. Click below to generate your next report!

Get started

Item Spec 4.5 is almost here with much-anticipated shipping restrictions!

In case you missed it, Item Spec 4.5 is releasing soon and updates will include new attributes for Sale Restrictions for items in the Furniture or Large Appliances categories to give sellers the ability to configure shipping restrictions for items that should not ship to a certain state or zip code.

Moving forward, if you are setting up items in the Furniture or Large Appliances categories, you’ll be required to complete the ‘Restriction Type’ field and choose either the ‘Commercial’ or ‘Illegal for Sale’ Restriction Types and list all the states and zip codes where your product should not be sold for legal or commercial reasons. Sale Restrictions will be enabled for more categories soon.

Reminder: Item Spec 3.2 retiring soon

As a reminder, starting October 1, our systems will no longer support item setup or maintenance using Item Spec 3.2. Start using the latest versions (4X) now so you can enjoy all the new features, manage your items more efficiently, and help ensure your business remains uninterrupted.

Visit the Developer Portal now to migrate to the latest specs.

Reminder: Order ID numbers are increasing in length

As a reminder, we are increasing the length of our order ID numbers. Order numbers are currently 13-digits long, but they will be expanding to 15-digits. There are no required code changes or action needed by you, but please ensure there will be no limitations on your end to consume or display the new order IDs.

Reminder: updates to the Order Cancellations APIs

We’ve made some updates to the order cancellation flow to improve the experience for customers and sellers. All sellers integrated via API or via Solution Providers are required to make the appropriate API call updates found here.

Here’s what’s changing:

  • A new flag called intentToCancelOverride will be provided in the shipping API.
  • Sellers can use intentToCancelOverride to identify shipping orders marked as canceled by the customer when the order status hasn’t been updated.
  • The response body for getOrders and shipping API won’t change, as intentToCancel is available at the orderLine level.
  • The Customer Changed Mind cancellation reason now only applies when the intentToCancel attribute is present on the GetOrders API.
