To provide Walmart customers with a consistent, great shopping experience on Walmart.com, weâre implementing a new Seller Responsiveness Standard soon. As part of this upcoming new requirement, we encourage sellers to respond to customer communications within 48 hours, including on weekends. Failure to meet and maintain these standards may result in account suspension and up to termination of Walmart Marketplace selling privileges. In the meantime, read through our guide for responding to customer messages.
In the coming weeks, weâll share complete details on the Standards so you know how you can elevate your customer service approach. To help sellers meet these goals, weâll also be introducing a Seller Center dashboard that allows you to monitor your communication performance. Keep an eye out for more information.
Speaking of customer service, sellers can now choose a primary contact for customer service inquiries. Navigate to the Manage Contacts page in Seller Center to make the update. From there, edit or add a new contact type by sharing the name, email and phone number of the contact, then click the checkbox next to âMake Primary Contactâ and save your contact. Once our team verifies the new contact information, your primary customer service contact will be shown in listings and on your seller pages on Walmart.com. Itâs that easy!
If youâre still using Item Spec 3, itâs time to upgrade! Over the next six months weâll be phasing out Item Spec 3 in favor of Item Spec 4, which has a ton of new features youâre going to love, including:
Log into Seller Center and download Item Spec 4 today!
Starting the week of April 25, we will be increasing the length of our order ID numbers. Order numbers are currently 13-digits long, but they will be expanding to 15-digits. There are no required code changes or action needed by you, but please ensure there will be no limitations on your end to consume or display the new order IDs.
Sellers can now update multi-node inventory in bulk for multiple items and numerous SKUs, or for individual SKUs. You can also create node-level description details. Learn more here.
Starting in mid-April, all Marketplace sellers will be able to track full adjustments as âReturnsâ in the Returns & Refund Dashboard in Seller Center. Full adjustments initiated by sellers through order management will now trigger a return and will prompt the seller to provide more details.
