Recently submitted a support ticket? You can now get case updates in Seller Center

It’s time to start enjoying a more efficient support experience! In our ongoing effort to improve seller interactions, we’ve made some enhancements to our support notification system. Going forward, we’ll notify you directly in Seller Center if we need more info to move your support case along, or if there’s a resolution. You can then seamlessly share the required info or reopen a resolved case if you have additional questions or concerns. We hope this new system provides you with an easier, more user-friendly experience.

Now available: 11 new carrier options to get your customers smiling

Sellers are now able to choose from 11 new carrier options when marking orders as Shipped. When you select shipping from a carrier on this expanded list instead of Other, customers will be able to see the tracking status updates for them as well.* These additional options can improve your Valid Tracking Rate (VTR) and On Time Delivery rate (OTD) on the Performance Dashboard and provide your customers with a great shipping experience—a win-win!

*When inserting a tracking ID for a new Walmart-approved carrier, be sure to select the proper carrier from the dropdown to ensure it is correctly counted towards your Valid Tracking Rate (VTR). The tracking number will be invalid if you choose “Other Carrier”.

Policies & Guidelines

Reminder to review the Prohibited Products Policy

We want to remind you of our Prohibited Products Policy, which lists the types of products that are prohibited and/or restricted from Walmart Marketplace. The policy is subject to change, so please periodically review the page.

Walmart will remove any product listings that per our discretion may be in violation of Law, the Prohibited Products Policy, or any other Walmart policy. Please consult with your legal counsel if you have questions about the laws and regulations concerning your products. Note that corrective action may be taken on your account as needed due to violations of our policies, which may include suspension and/or termination of your account.

Review Prohibited Products Policy


Don’t forget to review item categories that require pre-approval

Walmart strives to be the most trusted retailer, and having a marketplace that is inclusive, robust and compliant is one of our highest priorities. As per our Prohibited Products Policy, please be aware that the following categories require pre-approval from Walmart before a seller may offer such products on Walmart Marketplace:

  • Fragrance
  • Luxury brands
  • Software
  • Cell phones and accessories
  • Halloween and select seasonal products
  • Custom content

Sellers may apply for approval to offer products in these categories by contacting Partner Support and selecting: Items/Inventory > My item is unpublished. Include a list of the brands or products you wish to sell. Approvals will be granted for specific brands or products within these categories. Please note that approval may be retracted if there are any legal claims related to products or if your products, or account are found to be in violation of any of our policies. If you have questions about category restrictions or our Prohibited Products Policy, please create a case via Seller Center with the code TNS.

Here’s your reminder to check your Solution Provider integration

Don’t forget to routinely review the integration between your chosen Solution Provider and Seller Center to ensure your Marketplace orders are being accurately logged. It’s important to do so, as when there’s a desynchronization event, some Marketplace orders can be shipped then auto canceled. Unfortunately, if this happens, Walmart is not responsible for any loss of product associated with the impacted orders, and the costs for such a loss will fall to you.
