Policies & guidelines

Stay compliant with Utah’s Law Label requirements

Starting January 1, 2024, Utah will require online sellers to make sure consumers can easily view law labels on product webpages for certain stuffed or filled items. To stay compliant, please upload an image of the specific product law label or link it in your product description on Walmart.com. For more information, please review the Utah Office of Administrative Rules R70-101-18.

*Walmart does not provide legal advice to sellers. Sellers should seek their own legal counsel on how to comply with all laws and regulations applicable to their product(s).

Updated compliance process for CPSC-regulated products

We’re enhancing our auditing program to ensure third-party products comply with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission’s (CPSC) product certificate requirements.

Sellers of CPSC-regulated products will now need to provide their Children’s Product Certificate or General Certificate of Conformity documentation at Bureau Veritas or SGS’s request.*

*Bureau Veritas or ICW/SGS will contact sellers directly by email with a request for information, including product details. Failure to provide the required documents or initiate compliance with the requirements could result in product(s) being removed from the Walmart.com website and additional accountability.

State restrictions for ride-on products

Reminder: before fulfilling orders including toy ride-ons, e-bikes, minibikes, go-karts, and similar products, please ensure those items are compliant with specific state regulations. Review our Prohibited Products Policy for Restricted/Illegal Products for more information.

Help boost conversions and drive repeat customers with extended holiday returns

We’re excited to offer extended returns for top-performing Walmart Marketplace products, and you’ve been opted in unless you’ve been informed otherwise. From October 1 through December 31, 2023, all items* purchased in-store or online can be returned until January 31, 2024.

*Exemptions include, but are not limited to, wireless phones, major appliances, Dyson products, Walmart protection plans, AppleCare, precious metals, and select luxury items.
